Hourly rates:
Proofreading: £26/hour
Copy Editing: £34/hour
All projects are quoted individually based on word count, document quality, and required turnaround. You’ll receive a fixed project quote after I’ve reviewed your file.
Most small business documents (e.g. a 1,000-word About page or newsletter) take under an hour.
Longer or more complex projects (e.g. policy papers, articles, reports) are billed based on time needed.
Minimum charge: £15 - ideal for short pieces like bios, captions, or micro-edits.

Note on AI-assisted editing:
My editing and proofreading services are always led by a human editor (me!), ensuring your voice, tone, and intent are carefully preserved. However, if you prefer an AI-assisted approach for quicker turnaround or reduced cost, I offer a hybrid editing option. This combines AI-generated suggestions with human oversight and light-touch polishing.
If you’d like to explore this option, just let me know when you send your brief. Hybrid edits are quoted at a lower rate, and turnaround time is often shorter.

How It Works
Step 1 - Send Your Brief
Use my contact page to share your project details: word count, deadline, and whether you require proofreading or copy editing.
Quick note: my copy editing services includes proofreading, so there is no need to pay twice.
Step 2 - Receive Your Quote
I’ll respond with a personalised quotation. Once confirmed, I’ll issue an invoice for 50% upfront to secure your booking. The remaining 50% is due within 7 days of final delivery.
Step 3 - Editing In Progress
Once payment is received, I’ll edit your document and return it by the agreed deadline, polished and professional, with clear improvements in flow, accuracy, and tone.
Step 4 - Final Delivery
You’ll receive your fully edited document, along with any light recommendations to further elevate your work. Your final invoice will be issued, with 7 days to complete payment.
Confidentiality & Trust
I understand the importance of discretion when it comes to your work. Every document is handled securely and with complete confidentiality. I never share your work, and I take great care to protect your intellectual property at every stage of the editing process. My role is to support you in presenting your ideas at their very best, with absolute respect for your privacy and ownership.
Document Retention Policy
I retain client documents for a period of 30 days following final delivery. This allows for any follow-up queries or clarification. After this period, all files are securely deleted from my systems. If you would prefer for your documents to be deleted immediately after delivery, please let me know when placing your order.
Please note: I do not retain copies of your documents beyond this period. I recommend that you keep your own copy for your records.
